Beautiful baby

My husband and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Chuong and staff. We tried for 10 years to have a baby. With just one fertilized egg transfer at the age of 34 yrs old, we were blessed with a very healthy 9lb 6oz 22in baby boy. Wonderful people to work with. Thank you

My wife was 42 years old when we started an IVF cycle treatment at Cooper institute. In spite of we are in high risk candidate category, with amazing Dr. Chuong’s technique and greatly support clinic staffs (especially Antoinette), our son was born on 5/27/2015 when my wife was at age of 43. We cannot express our appreciation enough to the Cooper Institute and feel so grateful and lucky that we have chosen a highly successful program. We are very sure that we will be back to Cooper for our second child. Thank you so much, Dr. Chuong and staffs,

Dr. Chuong is the most competent and caring doctor I have ever met in my life. I cannot thank him enough. He is highly experienced and listed all my options during my initial visit. I had visited several clinics and was most impressed that he really put patients' best interest first. He is definitely not the kind of business doctor who only tries to sell patients the most expensive procedure. I can tell he takes care of each and every patient like his own family. The IVF Coordinator, Antoinette is excellent. She always works above and beyond what an office nurse is expected to do. I did not think I could get the same kind of medical and personal care anywhere else. My husband and I are grateful to Dr. Chuong and his superb staff. I will definitely recommend his office to any of my families and friends.

many unnecessary procedures and doctor visits !!

I visited Dr. Choung for a few months. The nurses, the IVF coordinator Antoinette, and Dr. Chuong are all nice. But just right before the IVF treatment I decided to go for another doctor for the treatment after learning that DR. Chuong's IVF success rate was very low even for the patients younger than 35. His rate is around 26% with fresh eggs as of 2012, much lower than my current doctor whose rate is greater than 48%. I was 38 and the rate is even lower for Dr. Chuong. Before I decided to switch doctor, I asked Antoinette for more recent rate and she never replied me. Later on, I received a $315 bill after the adjustment from the insurance (the whole charge was $2800) from Dr. Chuong office for some mock embryo transfer procedure. I had my IVF with my current doctor who never did this procedure on me. The only time he operated on me was the date of the egg retrivial and transfer. Comparing two doctors, I realized how many unncessary doctor visits and blood draws I had with Dr. Chuong. Not to mention he only uses standard IVF protocol instead of personalize treament. Also, some of his staffs are very unprofession and rude especially the person in charge of the billing whose name I believe is Christine. They even charge me $30 or so processing fee to get my own medical records! In general, I won't recommend Dr. Chuong!

failed ivf

we ve wased our money at this place. Dr James Chuong only tale cash or personal check. he charge 5% fee for credit card. we did 1 cycle of ivf with him. on the day of the transfer. we ve waited more than 1 hour in the wait room even with the appointment. it took him more than an hour to complete the tranfer and my wife was bleeding after the transfer. the IVF was unsuccessful. at the following up he recommended my wife to have endometriosis surgery but she just at that surgery 6 months ago. we went to get a second opinion and my wife have no endometriosis. we also found out that the transfer were not supposed to be more than an hour or you will have very small chance of success. Dr chuong seem to be nice but i dont think he is update with the latest technologies in his field. i would avoid this office.

Response from Dr. Chuong

Dear Mr. JV:
I understand your frustration and anger. Fertility journey is not always easy and we strive to provide the best possible care to our patients. I recall that we did have some difficulty in performing the embryo transfer procedure for your wife, TN. She had a curve uterine canal and was in distress which resulted in uterine muscle spasm. As I was unable to pass the transfer tubing through the cervical canal, I asked her to relax for over 30 min before I did the 2nd try. Eventually the tube was placed inside the uterus after she relaxed herself. A few cc of blood was noted coming out from the cervix where the aspiration needle went through during the previous egg retrieval procedure. The spotting was not from inside the uterus and definitely was not contribute to the failure.
The main reason for TN's unsuccessful IVF was the endometriosis. Eleven months prior to the IVF, TN underwent a laparoscopic surgery for stage 4 (the most advanced) endometriosis with bilateral endometriomas (endometriosis inside the ovaries). The fact that TN, in her mid 30s' only produced fewer than 5 eggs (despite of high doses of fertility drugs) resulting in 1 average quality of embryo and 2 poor quality of embryos highly suggested that the ability of ovaries to produce quality eggs has been compromized by endometriosis and/or residual, recurrent endometriosis foci continue damaging the ovaries. That was the reason I proposed another laparoscopy to further investigate the endometriosis activities and other pelvic pathology. I will appreciate having the opportunity to discuss this subject with your doctor who stated TN did not have endometriosis. This can be done either by phone or on line.
I made the treatment plan for TN based on my 30 years' experiences, yet I am very open minded, and love to exchange the opinions with other physicians so that the best course of treatment can be developed for TN. In any rate, I sincerely wish you two the best wherever you ultimately decide to seek for additional fertility treatment. I will be available to answer any questions your future provider may have.

I just finished a treatment at the Cooper Institute and waiting on my pregnancy results. Regardless of the outcome, I just wanted to express my gratitude to Dr. Chuong and his staff for being hands on and so supportive during this process, no matter how many questions I asked.

By Chi M. on 4/23/13 We got pregnant on our first IVF cycle. The IVF coordinator, Antoinette, was fantastic, and caring, and the Embryologist was Excellent. The administrative Staff we dealt with was cheerful. We are a "modern family", and Dr Chuong was the first IVF clinics that would work with us without discrimination (And we were screened at 4 IVF clinics prior to finding Cooper Institute and all of them expressed hesitation to work with our untraditional family).

I became patient of Dr.

Your rating: 55 1
I became patient of Dr. Choung 02/2012. He is very patient and detailed. He explained our options and advised which was the best route to take. We decided to go through a mini IVF since my insurance did not cover Fertility and it was a least expensive option. The first round was unsuccessful. We also found my husband's sperm was not strong enough so he was going to try to quit smoking and increase chances. We decided to try again later that year. We tried for a second round this time a full IVF treatment 11/2012. I am currrently 5 months pregnant with twins. We are the so grateful and thankful for Dr. Choung and his staff through this time. They accomomdated my schedule, answered any question I had and received very good service through out our visits. I would defenitely recommend him to any couple trying to concieve.
