Exceptional Doctor

Your rating: 55 1
I have never written a review for a doctor before but I feel compelled to do so for Dr. Hodes. All of my physicians are out of the NYU network and for the most part, I have gotten quality medical care, but I realized upon my first visit with Dr. Hodes that she offers a whole other level of quality I'v rarely experienced in the healthcare system. Every staff member in both offices are kind, patient and caring so it is clear that Dr. Hodes leads by example and models this approach for her employees. Fertility is a very difficult matter for so many women, specifically single women. I wanted to understand more about my options and the process but I was truthfully expecting my experience to be like it is with most doctors. They rush in, answer a few questions and make you feel anxious because clearly they are in a rush to go see the other 3 patients who just got put in an exam rooms since your slotted 15 minute appointment began. This WAS NOT the experience I had with Dr. Hodes. To the end that I actually mentioned it, like wow I'm surprised you are spending so much time with me. First, we went into her office where she not only answered all my questions but went above and beyond to ensure she educated me on all facets of fertility for someone of my age and health. She walked me through my options, explained the process and most importantly when I got emotional from the discussion, she made me feel like it's totally normal to feel that way and continued to talk me through what I needed to know to make an informed decision. The actual medical exam was thorough and what I really liked (because I am super curious) is that she explained to me what she was doing and what everything meant. After the appointment she provided me several resources and next steps for me to follow should I want to. I did one blood test and was directed to go in for another once my cycle started. Shortly after my appointment her office called me to see if my cycle started re: the next blood test and to ask how I was feeling, like really who does that? What doctor even remembers someone was supposed to follow-up with them. Her staff told me she had been asking them if I had come in that morning for the test. Then the doctor talked me on the phone extensively about my previous blood work results and we continued to plan next steps. I couldn't believe how I wasn't just a number to this doctor, rather I was being treated like a patient who mattered. My colleague mentioned recently she was interested in doing what I am doing and without hesitation I told her she MUST go see Dr. Hodes. With so many uncertainties in life and trying to keep up with the rat race that is NYC, it is so extremely valuable to have a health care provider that genuinely cares. Knowing that you are getting exceptional treatment from a clearly well educated and experienced professional is so comforting, specifically with something like fertility exploration. Whether you know exactly what you need and want to do or you haven't made any decisions yet and just want to learn more, Dr. Hodes is the person to make an appointment with. You will certainly get exactly what you need under her care and I recommend her without hesitation. Thanks,

Dr. Hodes is a FANTASTIC RE.
