BAD PRACTICES

If I could give them 0 stars I would. The worst service ever, they do not see you as a human being they see you as a profitable item, they sell you packages that they do not complete and charge you all of it without refunds. My wife and I bought a package that includes stimulation, and insemination, After starting the medication prescribed by the nurse (not even the Doctor), my wife went to the office on 11/10/16 at 8 am and an ultrasound was performed on her, the nurse never talked about the procedure and requested her to be back on Saturday 11/12/16, as she thought that the egg would be ready for insemination on that day. On 11/12/16, my wife arrived to the office and another ultrasound was performed on her, the nurse stated that she had ovulated already and that we missed the chance for insemination. My wife proceeded to tell her that more observation will be required next month when we perform the procedure, the nurse stated that we would have to pay another $2936.50 if we decided to do the procedure again; my wife in shock replies “what do you mean? “We have not performed the procedure yet? Can’t we do it next month the right way? you following up closer?” The Nurse proceeded to say that she was sorry but no refunds for this package, even if it wasn’t performed. My wife left the office crying like I have never seen her cry with her heart broken This is totally unprofessional. We really though that they cared about the patient but all they care about is the money. When I proceeded to try to resolve the issue I never got the chance and got removed as a patient, WE DID NOT WANT OUR MONEY BACK ALL WE WANTED IS TO GET WHAT WE PAID FOR!.

Understaffed = unorganized

I have only seen Dr. Woodles twice. I loved her when we first met because it was our 2nd IVF clinic. However, like the other reviews, this place is to busy for the amount of staff, with no follow through. My progesterone levels when doing Stims was tripling every time I got the result and no one caught it (I was there every other day and the staff barley changed my dosages). That caused me to hyperstimulate which is now costing me now another 5 grand to continue the transfer since I have gone from Fresh to FET. Now I can't afford to continue because that 16k was everything we had. They tried blaming me for not drinking enough gatorade (I am an A type personality. I made my own charts, calenders and marked the gallons of gatorade I was drinking. It was to the T what was advised.) I am a good patient, I don't deserve this. Especially this being my second clinic. Starring to feel that IVF is all a scam that pray on couples desperate for a family.

Stressful

I agree completely with the post from Esther on 3/4/16. If I could, I'd give them zero stars. They tell you to avoid stress yet they are responsible for all the stress I have in this process. No compassion whatsoever!

If you are over 45 go elsewhere

First I choose a female physician thinking she will be more understanding-what a joke from day one she pushed for egg donor so don't believe their answer- they do push for egg donor. After trying for 2 years (only IUI) I was able to do IVF. I decided to do donor eggs mainly because I was not going to argue with them that I should try at least once with my own eggs. To make story short after 2 years and right after I paid the bill (you have to pay ALL BEFORE they start) DR doesn't want to transfer two embryos! I had EKG, stress test and you name it EVERYTHINKG perfect! She claimed that their policy don't allow to transfer two embryos at my age!! Bunch of bologna! Office is cover with pics of multiples and I know some of those ladies are over 45!!!

Please don't waste your time

If you want to spend a lot of money, not get any questions answered, and not see the doctor, ever, this is the place for you. All they did the entire time I went there was stress me out. I agree with some of the other reviews, Dr. Wood's nurses are really rude. Forget about feeling welcomed or like they're doing the best thing for you. I've completed my last cycle with them and not planning on giving them another single red cent.

Great Dr. but questionable staff

I have been going to Dr. Wood for over two years and the hardest part besides going through infertility is dealing with the staff at IVFMD. If it was not for Dr. Wood I would have been found another doctor's office. As a patient you literally have to stay on top of everything when you are dealing with IVFMD to include but not limited to lab results, calendars, medications and the next step of any process you are going through. I have left that office several times in tears due to staff incompetence (to include the medical assistances, nurses and financial staff). Some staff really needs customer service training because the customer service sucks. However, Dr. Wood is great.

Great Doctor and Best Staff

There is no other IVF doctor on earth better then Dr Ellan Wood and her staff. They helped me in my worst time and guided me at every step, very truthful and explained every single step in detail. Always tried to help me with best suggestion. My twins will be turning 10 years old tomorrow and still I have no words to thank the team. God Bless the entire team for ever.

Great Dr. some rude staff

Dr. Wood knows her stuff. She os the only reason we continued to go here as long as we did. Her main nurse Yarit is plain rude and gives bad information. We did not feel welcomed.

Huge bill because of mishandling

My samples were sent to lab which was out of my network provider. Now, I received bill of more than $2000. I called doctor's place couple of times to clear it up. They didn't return my calls. It is not my fault and they never told me before sending my samples to clinic which was not under my insurance. Very frustrated!

I am over 45 and honestly don

I am over 45 and honestly don't like that they push for donor egg even if that is not what you want. It's my money and if I want to try they should let you.

Reply from South Florida Institute

We don’t take patients money to simply satisfy their needs. Proper treatment offers the patient the best option to afford a successful outcome. We believe that guiding them in the right direction is more important than simply taking their money especially with a 3.9% chance to conceive.
