Hi Lindy - I understand

Hi Lindy - I understand your concern and confusion! First of all - are you seeing a fertility doctor - a reproductive endocrinologist (RE)? You should be, rather than your ob/gyn. So the first step is to find a RE in your area (We have a "Find a Doctor" search feature on every page of the website).

And here is some content on the subject - including diagnosis and treatment:
http://www.fertilityauthority.com/diagnosis/polycystic-ovarian-syndrome. And this video has good info: http://www.fertilityauthority.com/video/what-pcos-0

In answer to your question, yes - some patients are prescribed the diabetes drug Metformin - but it really depends on your particular situation. And a fertility doctor - reproductive endocrinologist - will definately get you on the right track.

Hello I was diagnosed with PCOS and just found out a few days ago! We have one child that is 6 and have been trying atleast 3 years to have another! My doctor just put me on Clomid after giving me meds to make my menstrual cycle start. I just finished my first cycle of Clomid and that’s when she discovered the PCOS. She says shes hopeful because the ultra sound did show follicles just none large enough! My concern is afetr reading so many terrifying things about this online im wondering if this is the right course to go with right now? I've read others say their doctors put them on diabetic meds first? I am so confused please help!
