Success after 10 years

We concluded our 10 years journey of trying to have a baby at Houston Fertility Specialists. Upon recommendation received from a family friend, we decided to meet with Dr. Randall Dunn, and he seemed such a warm, friendly and professional doctor right from the get go. We did a FET in 2014, with 100% success, but unfortunately, the twin pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage at about 20 weeks due to some infection. Finally when we were on the verge of giving up, because we were so emotionally and financially drained in 10 years of trying, Dr. Dunn convinced us to give it one last try, and here...we now have a nearly 6 month old baby who lights up our lives. No words will ever be good enough to thank Dr. Dunn and let you all know that after multiple failed IUI/IVF/FET cycles in Boston & Seattle, Dr. Dunn gave us a 100% success both times with FET. He is an amazing doctor and an amazing person as well.

I was seeing a different RE for 10 months before switching to Dr. Dunn. I made an appointment and they couldn't give me a date for until 2 months after. Then one morning I got a call from his office if I can come in the next day, as there was a cancellation. I told my husband to take a day off and we both went to see him. Dr. Dunn has a very broad understanding of PCOS, and several times mentioned his wife who also has the same diagnosis. He was my last hope to getting pregnant. He made some changes to my medications and did some blood work. He also started me on prenatal vitamins that he recommends. I started his regimen. When I got my period, I went for HSG test, which he said is known to increase the likelihood of getting pregnant. He made reference to the research studies, which I thought was great. Then his nurses called me in for follicle scans. My biggest follicle on day 17 was 11 mm. The nurse told me we can try next cycle, as I had 3 scans done this cycle and all of them showed no significant growth. I was so disappointed that I cried right there in the office. Thankfully my husband was there and he helped me pull myself together. Then, I made a follow up with Dr. Dunn for 2 weeks after the scan. He said that he wanted to try this regimen again this cycle. But I told him that I had a positive OPK on cycle day 20. He said we will still keep our hopes up high and he told me to call his office when I got my next period. Exactly 4 weeks after my last period, I just couldn't stop myself from taking pregnancy test, because I just knew there was something different about this cycle, it just didn't feel the same. Then I got a faint positive with a cheap pregnancy test stick. Then I used clear blue next morning at 4am (couldn't sleep all night). And got a real positive! I just couldn't believe this. My husband and I were so ecstatic. Dr. Dunn surely knows what he is doing. I still think he is a miracle worker and this baby is a miracle baby. I am 37 weeks now, and ready to pop anytime. My pregnancy was smooth with no complications whatsoever. I plan to go back to him for help with having another baby when we are ready.
