What are causes of male infertility?

The most common cause of male infertility is low sperm count. Men who have low sperm counts could be caused due to hormonal problems. At times, some men may have no sperm in the ejaculate. The cause of this can be an obstructive problem or non-obstructive problem. An obstructive cause may be able to be resolved by a urologist. A non-obstructive problem can be due to a genetic abnormality.

Dr. Kenan Omurtag is a fertility doctor at Washington University Infertility and Reproductive Medicine Center. He discusses some potential causes of male infertility.
